In addition to its hemostatic effect, Ankaferd Blood Stopper® (ABS) also supports wound healing by promoting neovascularization, which helps rapid wound healing. The effect of ABS in providing mechanical strength as strong as primary repair can be attributed to increased fibroblast activity. [1]
Study findings showed that ABS has effective wound healing potential with strong antibiotic film activity against oral cavity microorganisms. [2] Thanks to this feature, it contributes to faster healing of wounds in the areas used as a bleeding stopper in dental applications.
ABS may be useful in the treatment of acute burn lesions. It has been observed that the wounds healed rapidly with the application of topical ABS to the burn lesions. [3]
Another scientific study revealed that the high zinc content in Ankaferd may aid its wound healing effect.[4]
As a result, the usage of Ankaferd products provides fast and effective hemostasis while its support for wound/burn healing processes in the area used makes Ankaferd an ideal hemostatic agent.
